Cowanesque Valley High School serves the community at the Western end of the Northern Tioga School District. Surrounded by lush hills and fields, students who go to CVHS are provided with many of the opportunities of a larger school while benefiting from a rural environment where people know and care about one another.
Students at Cowanesque Valley High School attend grades 7-12. 7th and 8th graders are busy in a Middle School program with a core group of caring teachers who meet on a daily basis to discuss student progress and achievement. Middle School students are exposed to many of CV's elective choices in their end-of-day block classes. 9-12th graders' schedules include both semester-long 80 minute block classes, and year-long 40 minute classes to maximize their learning and retention in core subjects while allowing them opportunities to choose from our diverse elective programs designed to make students into individuals. The varied schedule gives each student a chance to find a place where he or she thrives. Students are also encouraged to get involved in our many extracurricular activities to build non-academic skills and leadership abilities. We, at CV, are dedicated to providing opportunities that will push our students towards becoming successful, responsible, and well rounded citizens of the community.
