| Welcome
to Elkland Area Middle/High School! Thank you for visiting our website to find
out more information in regard to what it is like to be an "Elkland Ram".
We offer a nice variety of academic courses with a good mix of hands-on opportunities
in the art, music, and shop areas. Elkland Area High School (EAHS) is situated
in the center of the Northern Tioga School District. We are the smallest of the
three high schools in the district (Williamson High School and Cowanesque Valley
High School are the other two). EAHS is comprised of approximately 300 students
in grades seven through twelve. The 7th and 8th grade students operate on a completely
different schedule than the high school students, following the "school within
a school" concept. The middle school team of teachers does an outstanding
job of educating the students in the classroom as well as providing opportunities
for the students to experience life within and outside of our community. The high
school students have the good fortune of being exposed to a rigorous curriculum
with elective options that will prepare them for their future after graduation.
The high school students have a modified block schedule of courses with some 80-minute
block classes for one semester and some 40-minute year long courses.
T he
extracurricular options add to the life at EAHS. We encourage all students to
be involved in one or more activities whether that is participation in athletics,
band, chorus, and/or a club. A highlight of our school is our active student council
that promotes school spirit throughout the year. We are also proud of our teacher
advisor program where all students in grades 9 - 12 have an advisor (teacher)
that assists students by checking grades, talking about careers, and communicating
with other teachers and parents. With a caring faculty, staff, custodial, and
maintenance departments all working together, we strive to make EAHS a safe and
warm learning environment for our Elkland area students. It is our goal our students
will learn the necessary skills to become contributing members of our society.
Thank you very much for visiting our website. We hope you can see why we
like being part of the Northern Tioga School District and the Elkland Area community.
Go RAMS!
